Who we are

FRED YAGER, President and Founder, has an impressive career with all aspects of the media beginning with his years as a war correspondent for the Navy during Vietnam followed by 13 years at the Associated Press as a reporter and the last four as an entertainment writer and movie critic. He worked for CBS Evening and Morning News as a part-time writer as well as the fulltime editor for the Fox 7'clock News. For 14 years, he was at Merrill Lynch, the first 7 as Vice President of media relations and the last 7 as Director of Global Broadcast Services, with 30 people reporting to him as they distributing a 3x daily business feed to local and international TV stations with an estimated 600 million daily viewers globally. He is the author or co-author of four nonfiction and fiction titles including the novels Rex, Untimely Death, and Just Your Everyday People and the reference book Career Opportunities in the Film Industry. His two latest books are Career Opportunities in the Publishing Industry, covering newspapers, magazines, and books, to be published by Facts on File, Inc. in January 2005 and Cybersona, a novel, to be published by Hannacroix Creek Books, Inc. in January 2005.

JAN YAGER consults on foreign and subsidiary rights as well as working as a writer, publicist, and speaker. She has published 23 nonfiction and fiction books beginning with her first title, published by Scribner's at the age of 26. She has worked in publishing at Macmillan Publishing Company and Grove Press; since 1996, she has run Hannacroix Creek Books, Inc., which has sold foreign rights to 45 publishers in more than 16 languages. Her newspaper and magazine articles have appeared in Parade, The New York Times, Harper's, Redbook, CosmoGIRL!, Family Circle, lhj.com, wsj.com, and other print and online publications. She has a Ph.D. in sociology from the City University of New York, a masters in criminal justice, and a year of graduate work in art therapy. She has been interviewed on such major talk shows as The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show, Good Morning, America, Sunday Morning, The View, National Public Radio, as well as quoted in print in People, USA, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. She is co-author with Fred Yager of two novels and the two career references; she consults by phone and in-person on book promotion and has been offering her popular BOOK PROMOTION BOOT CAMPS and her HOW TO WRITE, SELL, AND PROMOTE YOUR BOOK seminars in Los Angeles, Stamford, Connecticut, Long Island, Manhattan, and London since 1999.

BOB PLUNKETT, Producer, has been conducting interviews on TV and cable for two decades including several years at Good Day, New York followed by seven years as a consultant and interviewer for the daily news feed produced by the Merrill Lynch Global Business Video services. He conducts media training for corporate executives and also provides daily commentary about Wall Street for Cablevision.
